The hosts were really helpful. We wanted an impromptu barbecue and they kindly facilitated this. The laundry area/ boot room was very spacious with plenty of room for wellies and wet weather gear, as well as drying and washing facilities.

We ate at The Cobbles and also The Cross Keys. We had a takeaway from the Chinese in Kelso. All Good and enjoyable.
Kelso is compact and all on the flat. We used it as a base to visit other places in the Borders.

The history is all within walking distance. it has enough going on but like all towns since COVID, there are hopes closed that may never open again. the bus is regular so you can relax and watch the very beautiful scenery while having visits to other towns.

It was a very nice apartment on two floors.
It was a very nice apartment on two floors. Steep stairs up to both floors but apart from that very nice indeed and would highly recommend. We were visiting my sister who lives up the street from the Bakehouse so the recommendations below are not applicable as it was Christmas and all was closed.

A lovely little area with some amenities round about.
A lovely little area with some amenities round about. From our hotel in Roxburgh it took 5 minutes in a taxi to the town square. The town itself has everything you need Greg’s, chemist, co-op, coffee shops, antique stores, few pubs. So you can definitely spend a few hours toddling about.
There is also a castle about another 2/3 minutes drive by. But do check the website for seasonal opening times.
For great wholesome food I’d definitely recommended cobbles inn. You’ll probably have to book a table so be prepared, it’s a busy little place.
Kelso is a great place to just relax by the side of the Tweed and watch salmon leap. Exactly what we needed on way home after touring Scotland. The hotel gives a first impression of maybe needing a bit of an update but ignore that - it has everything needed. Staff are friendly, service is great, food is excellent and the room comfortable. The Queen's Head is in centre of town near the abbey and at first we thought parking was going to be a problem but you can find free parking nearby, just ask the staff.
The hotel is a passable 3 star hotel. The room was a good size with a double bed and sofa.
The breakfast had a decent amount of choice with a surprising good fruit selection, although the hot food did not meet expectations. I found the dining area quite dark.
I found it strange that I had to hand in the keys to my room every time I left the hotel - maybe this is normal but i've not experienced it before.
Kelso is a nice stopover with nice shops etc nearby.
The property is ideally suited for exploring the Scottish Borders and all this beautiful area has to offer. There is a comfortable double (with a further single off it suitable perhaps got a child and smother single bedroom. There is a further double that pulls down from a cupboard in the sitting room so plenty of beds for a family of any size. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a good dining room off this. Would thoroughly recommend.
Graham was a very welcoming, friendly and attentive host. Bellevue Guest House is conveniently situated just a short stroll away from Kelso town centre. There is private parking behind the house. The rooms were very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The breakfast was outstanding, using local produce, and by far the best I've ever had. We can't wait to go back again.
The location was perfect for a visit to Kelso. Parking was convenient. The apartment was really lovely, tastefully decorated and well equipped. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Kelso has many places to eat and takeaways however there is also everything you need for self catering.
Lots of character within a very old period property. Breakfast staff were fantastic and attentive. Breakfast was exceptional and served piping hot.
We chose a river view room which was superb.
Good car parking - lots of space and hotel was right next to Kelso shops.
Beautiful spacious quirky apartment has everything you need in a fabulous position and hosts could not be more helpful could not get over how spacious and modern it was if we had to go back to Kelso would definitely book here
Breakfast was good. The hotel was in the centre of Kelso and on the river Tweed. Being in the centre of Kelso the towns ammenities were within easy reach. Floors Castle could be seen in the distance.
Great historic hotel/castle in a great setting, nice staff, great pool and spa area, well keep ground with lots to do, Nice golf course. Restaurants very nice options.
Comfortable. Perfectly located. Easy to book with good communication from owner. An ideal no-fuss option for a weekend visit to Kelso - and the Kelso Races.
